SUMMARY:CURA Housing Forum: Manufactured Housing in Minnesota
CATEGORIES:Social Policy
DESCRIPTION:Chip Halbach, executive director, and Leigh Rosenberg, research and outreach coordinator, both from the Minnesota Housing Partnership, will discuss the organization's recent research report, “Manufactured Housing in Minnesota.” The results of the study suggest that manufactured home owners often stand at a disadvantage compared to site-built home owners due to policies that treat the types of homes differently, despite the fact that both serve as permanent dwellings. Policy recommendations will be presented to address concerns that manufactured home owners are more vulnerable and have more limited financing options. Additional perspectives on the issues will be provided by Warren Kramer, North Country Cooperative Development Fund, and Pablo Tapia and Paul Wissmiller, All Parks Alliance for Change.\nFREE
